Adam's district as of September 2, 2014, Adam, his companion Elder Newbold, Elder Mask, Elder Bair, and Elder Villaba from Ecuador.

Hey mom sorry bout yesterday! So our pday got switched because they felt like since it was Labor Day yesterday that we should be out so just for this week they switched it today. Anyways sounds like everything is going pretty well! Yeah it is hard to believe that I have been out for as long as I have honestly like basically two months like wow it has gone fast.
Spanish is great and so actually the other night we were with an investigator, and I bore my testimony, and I was just in it and feeling the spirit and after Elder Newbold was like dude that was fluent like I am for sure not fluent yet, but it is coming along slowly everyday because every one here speaks it and all my leaders so it is nice.
And so yeah every day have personal study, companion study and language study and sometimes lunch after then we head out to our appointments for the day. So like last week we taught 15 lessons which was awesome and only 4 investigators this time at church but more less active members that we got to come too because we are working a lot on reactivating members so that means they have to come at least 2 times for two months in a row.
Elder Newbold said that he has packages sent to the mission home because they would probably get stolen here. It is a little sketchy honestly like we will be talking to people and they always say be careful because just bad stuff goes down here, but I never feel real threatened unless it is at night but Elder Newbold is a bigger guy and so it isn't too bad.
Yea, Christmas I hear here is like super great. I am so ready for the cold though because it has been real hot and humid lately so it's time for some cold but anyways.
You can send it (his package the girls and I are sending) soon cause we have a mission tour and interviews coming up so I will probably get it then.
We only cover one ward, but it is actually pretty big which is nice just lots of less actives.
Tell them all (all being who asked about him on Sunday) I said hello!
Um tell Jake (best friend from Georgia who will be going to Philadelphia next month for his mission, had a wreck that he seriously should not have survived but walked away with only a concussion and bruises)  I said to be careful and he can't be letting that happen! Gotta see the kid! That is crazy well I hope he is all good!
Everyone we tell who doesn't know we know Spanish they are always surprised at how much we know in just the short amount of time like always and they love it. It's a good conversations starter.
I am in Blake's big email well smaller but anyways and I saw pictures of him, Luke, Sam and Ryan! So jealous.  Yea, I hope Courtney is enjoying it and doing well up there!
Oh gosh Ryan lol. Something always seems to go wrong with the Whites like hopefully Ryan doesn't miss his flight or something like that lol.  Poor guy (Colton White) that has to be so painful for sure. I'll keep him in my prayers. Hmm well tell him (Colton, I told Adam that he is taking his and Ryan's place in the harassing of Lizzy and everyone at home) I say hello! I hope everything is going alright with him. Poor Kayla is like all alone now but at least she will be staying busy cause I know that Kristyn is.
I can't believe everyone is getting out in the field like that is super awesome and I know they will all have lots of success for sure. I always pray for them.
Well this week was good as well and saw a lot of people and also we have a similar situation (like Sam M. talked about in his talk last Sunday) with a guy who as soon as he can get permission will be baptized. He is on probation for 7 more years and so his wife is a member but he just has to get permission. His name is Antonio, and we taught him yesterday, and it was a great lesson. He has such a desire to be baptized and change his life, and he already has. We asked him what was a blessing he has seen in his life, and it was that God gave him a second chance and saved his life. He has a HUGE scar on his leg of where he got shot and everything and so he feels so grateful to be alive and everything and have a loving wife because she is great. Nicest lady. Lots of people here are actually very nice but you always have some who are hard headed and just don't wanna listen to a word you say like we have this one guy right now who is I believe the husband of this lady Ramona that we are teaching and he is just as hard headed as it gets but she is so sweet, an older lady, and so we were closing with a prayer and asked who would she like to offer it and she pointed at him but he refused to so she just did it. It was so funny though because he was like huh me?? Anyways lots of great members here and strong members as well.
Also, the stake president speaks Spanish cause he served in Ecuador so he gave a talk in our ward this Sunday in Spanish which was cool. Super great stake president for sure. Oh and about pictures so we are going up to the church today and I will be sending some there for sure cause I have some good ones of food and just us and stuff.
Also, we gave two blessing this week which normally doesn't happen too often, but they both asked for it so those went real well. I am learning a ton every day and studying very hard so I can be the best that I can to bring more people into the church. I have already learned a lot and Elder Newbold is a great trainer. He can just get a little over stressed sometimes, and we talked about it so he told me just to tell him when I see he is and to be like dude it's all good just relax lol, but he is great.
Well let me know also if there is anything to pray for.
Also, one last thing that is super cool is the craziest change I have seen so far is with one of our investigators Carmen. She was actually suicidal before because she lost her daughter to an OD and also a son a couple years back and then we met her and starting teaching her and the other day she called and said how grateful she is for us and she feels such a peace in her life and is so much happier now having a knowledge of all these things. She should definitely be ready soon for a baptism.
Well let me know if there is anything I can pray for or anything and I love you mom! So happy I was able to come out. I have had a couple hard days I will admit but I just pray for strength that I can get through and I have every day. I love all the people here and the work and reading the Book of Mormon more and more and preach my gospel and everything just helps me grow so much more and I want to study it and enjoy it.
Well I will send pictures and keep you updated on everything and I love you very much! And so glad that nanny and papa joined the church. Love you again and talk to you Monday!

Love, Elder McArthur
